High-level meeting regarding the nursing sector chaired by Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
- Severe shortage of nurses in Balochistan: Only 1,700 nurses available against a requirement of 10,000.
- Decision made to establish nursing colleges in all divisions and major districts under Public-Private Partnership.
- Decision in the meeting: 2,000 trained nurses will be prepared annually with the assistance of Khyber Medical University.
- Agreement in the meeting: The province’s existing government nursing colleges will also remain functional as usual.
- “The youth of Balochistan will be trained according to the modern requirements of nursing and healthcare,” says CM Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
- “Government measures are underway, keeping in view the growing global demand for nursing and healthcare staff,” states CM Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
- “By providing international-standard training to the youth of Balochistan, employment opportunities will be created for them abroad,” CM Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
- “Dignified and secure employment paths are being opened for the youth of Balochistan in the nursing and healthcare sector,” CM Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
- “Special attention is being given to training, technology, and facilities for the improvement of the health sector,” CM Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, along with officials from the Health Department and Khyber Medical University.
